In July of 2012, Brian accepted the call to Chicago First Church of the Nazarene (C1) in Lemont, Illinois. Chicago First was organized in 1904 and committed today to reaching the more than 49,000 people with no faith affiliation living within a six-mile radius of the church. Since 2012, building on her rich tradition, C1 has walked through a three year refocus process which has doubled the number of first time guests and established discipleship systems which guide new believers deeper into their faith.
Prior to that time, for more than 12 years, Brian was blessed to serve as Lead Pastor at Ottawa First Church of the Nazarene, (OFC). OFC, now Cross Bridge Community Church of the Nazarene, with its commitment and sacrifice to others, made it possible for the worship attendance to grow from 200 to more than 900. Hundreds of people made first-time commitments to Christ. Under his leadership, OFC launched their first multi-site video campus in 2010, and invested in additional churches through restarts and church plants in Northwest Illinois.
Brian has long been active in Nazarene District leadership serving as Vice-Chair of the NWIL District Advisory Board, on the NWIL Board of Ministry, NWIL Finance Team, and as Director of the NWIL Mission Strategy Team. On the Chicago Central District (CCD), Brian currently serves on the Mission Area Leadership Team. On both the NWIL and CCD, Brian has been blessed to serve as director for POPS (Pastors on Purpose.) POPS is a monthly gathering focused on encouraging, equipping, communicating, and connecting pastors on the district.
Brian has authored a devotional for new believers called “God Time: Your First 31 Days” and is currently writing "Before you Quit" a devotional for leaders.
He and his wife Lindy, have three grown children, Nick, Nathan & Natalie and two grandchildren, Chloe & Beckham.
