The Loft is where 6th - 12th grade students connect with God and each other every week at C1. It's a great spot to play games, hang out, and meet some new people. If you've never checked it out, head upstairs and take a look!

Matthew Spear is the Student Ministries Director for Ignite. He works with grades 6-12, helping connect the gospel to a modern context. He earned his BS in Christian Education, with minors in Theology and Religious Studies from Olivet Nazarene University. His hope and prayer for C1 is to help students grow and learn as they develop their faith and relationship with Jesus. His personal mission statement is, “Love God. Love others. Be Jesus.”
His hobbies include reading and writing, as well as enjoying a good cup of coffee with friends. Matthew is also a fan of music but lacks the ability to play a single instrument; go figure. He is a sports fan, who cheers for the Miami Dolphins and the Philadelphia Flyers. Therefore, he is well acquainted with passages like James 1:2-3, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance."
Matthew's plan is to seek further education and continue to grow in his ministry context.
